Diagnosing America’s Healthcare System: Addressing Costs and Access NOW

Tentative Date: March 12th

While universal healthcare is the norm in most developed countries and the goal of many in the United States, achieving it is not likely to occur in the foreseeable future. Americans don’t have time to wait. We need action to reduce health costs and expand access now.

The 2021 University of Memphis Law Review Symposium seeks papers and presenters exploring proposals that could be acted on within the confines of our existing systems. Ideas might include reforming insurance, reducing pharmaceutical costs, capitalizing on solutions offered by AI and other technologies, disease prevention, addressing racial disparities, expanding the roles of non-M.D. healthcare workers, and community initiatives aimed at education and expansion of access to those most vulnerable and at risk.

The University of Memphis Law Review invites manuscripts from all points of view for publication in Volume 51, Number 4 and presentation at its March 2021 Symposium, Diagnosing America’s Healthcare System: Addressing Costs and Access NOW.

If you are interested in participating, please submit a manuscript or abstract to Symposium Editor John Taylor at memphislawarticles@gmail.com with “Diagnosing America” in the subject line.  The deadline for submitting a manuscript or abstract is October 1, 2020.
