The present research paper aims to address the issue of local democracy in
contemporary Islamic jurisprudence by shedding light on the obstacles that
were faced during the emergence of an Islamic jurisprudential theory,
especially in terms of the lack of contemporary school of thoughts of
jurisprudence that are interested in relevant studies, as well as in terms of the
modernity of the concept of local democracy alongside the speed of its
development, in addition to the foundations that can be built upon to launch
the theory of local democracy with an Islamic background, in light of the
practical and scientific implications that can result from it
