CALL FOR PAPERS: Seattle University’s Law Review and Black Law Student Association are excited to announce their second annual partnership symposium dedicated to uplifting and amplifying Black voices and ideas within the legal community. This year’s theme is Spotlight Symposium — Epoch: Institutional Transformation & the Law. If you are interested in submitting scholarship to Seattle University Law Review, please see the details below!

The goals of this symposium will be to allow audience members to critically discuss substantive equality versus formal equality-oriented initiatives; to provide the audience with a framework to critically think about and discuss racial justice initiatives adopted by various organizations; to identify possible shortcomings and benefits in the implementation of various diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives; and to engage in discussion about an outcome-oriented, substantive approach to racial justice.

If your work and passions align with the goals of our second annual Spotlight Symposium, Epoch: Institutional Transformation & the Law, we highly encourage you to submit an abstract or preliminary draft of your article. If you wish to submit an article for consideration, please send an abstract or article draft by November 30th, 2021. We will complete publication offers by December 31, 2021.

Please send article abstracts and drafts to
