The Berkeley Journal of Gender, Law & Justice (BGLJ) is accepting commentary submissions for Volume 38, to be published in Spring 2023!

Submissions Process:

BGLJ welcomes concise, scholarly pieces that respond to contemporary developments in the law from an intersectional feminist perspective. Appropriate pieces could consider recent or forthcoming Supreme Court decisions, state legislation, or other topical issues. We especially encourage current law students and recent graduates to submit pieces, including seminar papers and/or notes.

Criteria:

  • Recommended 15-20 page manuscript;
  • Commentary has not previously been published and is not committed to being published elsewhere;
  • Meets BGLJ’s mandate: to publish feminist legal scholarship that critically examines the intersection of gender with one or more axes of subordination, including, but not limited to, race, class, sexual orientation, and disability.

The submission deadline is December 19, 2022.

Please email submissions to bglj.rdc@berkeley.edu with the subject line “Commentary Submission.”
