May 12, 2021– Call for Papers

On behalf of the Cumberland Law Review, the Acquisitions Committee is sponsoring a call for papers for Issue 1 and Issue 2 of Volume 52 to be published in the 2020-2021 academic year. Issue 1 is focused on covering legal reform, including but not limited to: social justice, mental health needs in the criminal justice system, drug law reform, immigration, civil law, constitutional law, and juvenile detention reform. Issue 2 is focused on the latest developments in technology and the law, including but not limited to: cybersecurity, e-discovery, data management, artificial intelligence, and intellectual property.

The Cumberland Law Review Acquisitions Committee welcomes articles on any topic related to the above mentioned issues. Please submit the title of the article, an abstract, and CV either on Scholastica or to CLR-articles@samford.edu no later than Monday, June 28, 2021. Decisions about publication will be sent by Monday, July 5, 2021 and a full draft of the article will be needed by Friday, August 20, 2021.

Accepted papers will be published in the Cumberland Law Review, Volume 52, as well as published online by leading legal databases including LexisNexis, HeinOnline, and Westlaw. This quick turnaround allows the Law Review to ensure that certain time-sensitive articles do not become moot during the publication process.

Papers should be formatted pursuant to academic literature standards. The Bluebook citation method should be utilized for footnote text.

Questions may be addressed to our Acquisitions Editor, Stephanie Lynge, at CLR-articles@samford.edu

We look forward to reviewing new and upcoming submissions, and we wish all health and safety in the future.

Sincerely,

Stephanie Lynge

Acquisitions Editor
