The Charleston Law Review is the flagship journal of the Charleston School of Law. We publish four times a year, with two General Issues in the fall, a Symposium Issue in the spring, and a Student Works Issue, also published in the spring. We would be honored if you would consider publishing with us in either of our fall General Issues.
Our journal has been favorably cited numerous times. For example, inFCC v. Fox Television Stations Inc., 129 S. Ct. 1800 (2009), Justice Clarence Thomas cited an article from our fall 2009 issue in his concurring opinion. In 2010, the Harvard Law Review cited the same issue of our journal in their Supreme Court 2009 Term issue. Additionally, in 2007, the Iowa Supreme Court cited to the Charleston Law Review to help shape state common law in Orr v. Mortvedt, 735 N.W.2d 610 (Iowa 2007). In past issues, we have had the honor of publishing articles or forewords from Dean Erwin Chemerinsky, Professor A.E. Dick Howard, and then-President-elect Barack Obama.
For the General Issues, we welcome pieces of any length—from essay to article—addressing a topic of your choice. For publication in our first fall issue, we ask that the work be submitted by August 1, 2016. For publication in our second fall issue, we ask that the work be submitted by September 1, 2016.
